Cuba Hubub

Cuba is the largest island located in the Caribbean. It has a land mass of 42,426 miles squared. The rest of the Caribbean added together barely comes close to the entirety of Cuba. It's home to about 11 and a half million people! Roughly of those people, about 11 million of them speak their version of Spanish, called Cuban Spanish. The rest of the population speaks a dialect of Haitian Creole, Lucimi, and Corsican. The country has been a Democratic Centralist Party since the 1950's-1960's with the whole communist fiasco that happened there. Cuban's practice this art called "Santeria" which is their version of shamanism/ esoteric physics. Each of the Caribbean and Central American countries has their individual version of it, which derives from a Afro-Spanish people called  The Yoruba. Around the 17th century, the Yoruban culture migrated to Cuba along with Catholicism to blend into what we call "Santeria" which is practiced more today than Catholicism.

Traveling to Cuba?

How to get to? You can hop on a major airline destined for Cuba, but one must have several things ready before you can do that. A proper and valid passport, a Cuban Visa, Health Insurance, and declare a travel category to the United States Government before you can leave. After that, it's as simple as booking a flight. You can also go to another country like Mexico to bypass all of that.

Where to Stay? Hotels, AirBnB's, family homes, etc. The choices where you stay look limitless, but the USA has a list of businesses that Americans are not allowed to shop or stay at. The highest rated Hotel is the "Paradisus Princesa del Mar Resort & Spa" which is pretty pricey per night but worth the cost. However, just showing up and staying with a family is acceptable as well!

Where to go? The top tourist spot is Havana just since it's the capital, but other little quaint towns litter the countryside. The town of Vinales is home to the best tobacco fields for the top cigar companies! While the town of Trinidad takes its name from a country, they share the same ferocious spirit! Parties and the nightlife fill these areas so picking one is the hardest part.

What to do? Ever dance in a cave? Or ride a bull on a beach? Cuba has some of the most interesting activities that have ever been thought of! From jumping off waterfalls to smoking an authentic cigar with a real Mojito, this is the pinnacle of Caribbean experiences.

How much is all of this going to cost? This isn't something you can plan on a whim. The amount of money is just ridiculous, but for some it's worth it. The plane ticket ($313) to the hotel ($150-250 * # of days) the passport ($80) the Cuban visa ($75) food and nightlife add up dramatically over a vacation. Already just to get and stay there can be well over $1000 easy. The rest of the fun stuff we listed would probably tack on a couple more hundred dollars, so in all it isn't cheap! Total cost- (about $1800-$2000)
